Fan Art Friday: MCDONALDLAND MUTANTS Custom Figures
Inspired by author Carlton Mellick III’s bizarre post-apocalyptic novel Warrior Wolf Women of the Wasteland, in which “Road Warrior Werewolves [battle] McDonaldland Mutants” (seriously, this is a real book), this series of custom figures by Xysma Warhorse is equal parts outlandish and outstandingly awesome! It’s the kind of toy line I’d imagine Todd McFarlane producing were he handed the McDonalds license (in some parallel, adults-only universe).
While Xysma does admit that a few of the creatures are his own imagining, based on comments from the author’s website or the author himself, most of them come straight from the source material…which I now must go read.
“Hamburglar and Mayor McCheese”
In the book, the Mayor was the first to undergo plastic surgery to become the embodiment of the McDonaldland religion’s “god”, later Hamburglar followed suit. In time, the Mayor and the Hamburglar led a force of mutants in rebellion against McDonaldland.
“Grimace”
“Ronald McDonald” the young man who would later take the name Ronald McDonald spent his formative years in a maximum security facility due to a simple clerical error. In his daily struggle for survival, Ronald found he had a knack and a taste for killing. He filed his teeth to points, began painting his face, calling himself Ronald McDonald, and killing with abandon.
“Filet-O-Fish” The mutant fish-man known as Filet-o-Fish was part of a fish-man community in what used to be southern Texas.
“McNugget” The “Shaman of the Wasteland,” James Arch was a priest in the McTemple of Mayor McCheese until a tainted batch of bioengineered McNuggets led to his mutation.
“Wendy and The King” In the ultimate affront to the citizens of McDonaldland, the outlaw Wendy and her mutant boyfriend (The King) took on the names of the most hated demigods in the McDonaldland mythology.
“McWrap” A mutant enslaved by the Werewolf Women, McWrap became an indispensable member of their fighting force until he was defeated in combat by the dreaded Hamburglar. Pieced back together with scrap metal and body parts and kept alive by radioactive preservatives, he has become the bane of The Council.
“Mr. Happy” Mr Happy is the reclusive leader of the McDonaldland Council, only the highest ranking members of the council have ever been allowed in his presence.
“McFlurry” The myth of the McFlurry has persisted for over a decade in the frozen north of McDonaldland. The size of a normal man, he has glowing green eyes, and he is always accompanied by the smell of rotting meat.
“BIG MAC” When Mayor McCheese and Hamburglar rebelled against McDonaldland, the council decided to make a new symbol for the people of McDonaldland to rally behind…but something went terribly wrong [and] BIG MAC fell deeper and deeper into madness, roaming the wasteland as an unstoppable force.
