Earlier this week I shared my thoughts on the recently released Garbage Pail Kids documentary, 30 Years of Garbage, by Peel Here Productions. One of the things I enjoyed most about the film was not only getting to hear from the artists who helped launched the card series, but also the current generation of GPK alum…like Mark Pingitore. Pingitore, who we’ve featured previously in this column, is a Philadelphia-born artist whose credits include trading cards for Garbage Pail Kids, Adventure Time, Wacky Packages, The Walking Dead, Mars Attacks, Hollywood Zombies, and Cereal Killers. He’s also the man behind Slop Culture Kids, a GPK-inspired series of stickers, prints and shirts focusing primarily on the horror genre. Check out a few samples of the series:
