’30 YEARS OF GARBAGE’ – Garbage Pail Kids Documentary Official Trailer

After three years of fundraising and filming, Peel Here Productions is finally ready unveil the fruit of their dumpster-diving labor…30 YEARS OF GARBAGE: The Garbage Pail Kids Story. Helmed by co-directors and GPK artists Joe Simko and Jeff Zapata, 30 YEARS OF GARBAGE is an in-depth documentary that explores the “rich cartoon art and trading card history” of TOPPS’ Garbage Pail Kids franchise including it’s controversial beginnings and the infamous copyright lawsuit against Original Appalachian Artworks, Inc. (OAA) in the late 80s.

Featuring interviews and stories from the original creators as well as grown-up (strange) kids and superfans (PLUS actors from the original feature film), the 2-hr documentary will make its official debut this July at the historic Anthology Film Archives in NYC. For those unable to make the screening and/or who missed out on the film’s IndieGoGo campaign, you can pre-order a DVD of the final film from Peel Here Productions which includes 10 additional hours of bonus features.
