Cartoon Network Brings Back ‘Ben 10’ (Again)

It’s hard to believe that Man of Action’s Ben 10 is almost a decade old already, but in 2016 the series is turning… well, 10. To coincide with the show’s anniversary, Cartoon Network and Man of Action studios are rebooting the series for a new generation of kids. While it may be a new iteration the show, titled Ben 10 (?), the series will still star regulars “Ben Tennyson, his cousin Gwen, Grandpa Max and of course the alien Omnitrix.” Which means… it’s basically the same show in a different art style, I guess? That doesn’t sound very creative, actually.

The franchise, which has been relaunched several times since it’s debut (Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10: Omniverse) seems to be a cash cow for Cartoon Network so it’s easy to understand why they’d want to return to it, but why not evolve the mythology a bit more or at least put the Omnitrix in the control over another character to shake things up. Yeah, I suppose that kid would also have to be named Ben, but… whatever. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all turns out when the new series premieres here in the US come 2017.
