Dick Spanner – The Case of the Human Cannon Ball

A stop motion animated series from the 80s, Dick Spanner, P.I. starred a robot detective who solved crimes in a future parallel universe filled with puns and visual gags. MooseBox (Pilot)

I posted on Facebook last week that Nickelodeon’s latest wave of indie “Short Toons” were up. A hard mix of Rocky & Bullwinkle and old school games like Super Mario Bros., MooseBox (created by Mike Scott and produced at Triggerfish Animation Studios) definitely stood out among them. At the very least it’s the only cartoon where you’ll see butt cheeks on a hamburger.

Killer Kart

We’ve seen movies turn everything from condoms (Killer Condoms) to tires (Rubber) into bloodthirsty beasts of terror so… why not a shopping cart, right? Directed by James Feeney and produced by The Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts, Killer Kart does just that and does it really well thanks to some smart filmmaking and surprisingly solid acting.
