Yeah, you heard that right… a Robot Gladiator squares off against Space Jesus. As if that sentence wasn’t enough to pique your interest this short, CARL, also features “Drill-Raptors, EggBeater-Scorpions and a mighty BBQ-Octopus.” So, there’s that.
Even though there’s plenty of the aforementioned madness afoot in this short there’s also a pretty deep story going on which, according to animator/filmmaker Márk Juhász, has to do with “religion and the robotic nature of today’s society, using references to Terminator, Spartacus, Transformers, Matrix, etc.” In other words, it’s worth 7 minutes of your life to check this… preferably while your at work because, let’s face it, if you’re on this site right now you’re not really working that hard anyway.
