Independently Awesome: October Toys Relaunches SKELETON WARRIORS

As if they weren’t already awesome enough, the team over at October Toys (George and Ayleen Gaspar) have launched a brand new Kickstarter to raise funds for a very special projects… they’re bringing back SKELETON WARRIORS (oh yeah)! For the uninitiated, Skeleton Warriors is a lesser known mid-90s cartoon that only lasted 13 episodes. Combining early 3D graphics and 2D animation, the show took place on another planet where a young prince and his “Legion of Light” fought against an evil race of skeletal warriors for control of the Lightstar Crystal… in simple terms, it was like Star Wars meets Army of Darkness.

Like most Saturday morning shows at the time, it spawned a fair share of video games, comic books and a toy line by Playmates – but since the series was cut so short most of this stuff languishes in obscurity. October Toys is looking to change that with a set of all new 3 3/4″ to 5″ fully articulated (26 points), customizable, Glyos compatible action figures.

You might the Glyos System (Onell Designs) itself was crowdfunded on Kickstarter a few years back. What does this partnership mean? It means collectors can “break these figures apart, reassemble them, and even use the parts interchangeably with other Glyos System brands such as The Four Horsemen’s Power Lords, Outer Space Men, and even classic Onell Design Glyos figures!” That’s awesome.
