Way before video games became a common household appliance there were things known as “board games.” Some of you may remember these ancient relics as methods of entertainment by which friends and family members would gather around a wooden table and play. No digital graphics, no online co-op, rumble paks or first-person shooters – just two or more people, a “pre-marked cardboard surface” and a set of rules. I can remember playing some some really great board games growing up; Operation, Monopoly, Clue, Dungeon!… I could go on. But never once to I remember playing BORED GAME™.
Which makes sense since it’s probably the coolest board game NEVER made. Conjured from the minds of production studio Dark Igloo (Dave Franzese and Mark Richard Miller), Bored Game™ is a treasure trove of 80s/90s toy nostalgia as if pulled from within the dusty walls of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. In other words, it’s awesome.
