Independently Awesome: KOOKY CREEPS Papercraft Masks by Matt Hawkins

Halloween might be over until next year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t scare up some fun. With that in mind, papercraft artist Matt Hawkins has just launched a Kickstarter project called KOOKY CREEPS. A limited set of paper art masks featuring four unique characters (Spazmerelda, Jack O’ Gooblin, Bonehead, Kooky Cat), each mask comes pre-cut and ready to assemble in a neat, “handsomely eerie” coffin packaging. In addition to that, Hawkins has also assembled some pretty cool backer rewards including mini papercraft “Wolfmaniac” masks, exclusive artwork and – if you’re a big spender – an custom mask made with your input.

As an artist and papertoy maker I’ve worked on some amazing projects over the years but there has always been a few ideas that have haunted the back corners of my mind and sketch books that have never seen the light of day. One of these projects [was] a set of artisan Halloween masks. What could be more fun than design a set of whimsically weird Halloween masks. From this, Kooky Creeps was hatched.
