The year is coming to close in just a short month and a half, which means 2014 is on the horizon (suck it Mayan doomsayers!) and the future is nigh (better get my hoverboard my 2015 Mattel). But how will you possibly keep track of the days, weeks and months in the future? …well, I guess you could track the movement of the sun, or look on your laptop, or check your smartphone – but that’s beside the point because none of those options include curvaceous cuties in skintight outfits from your favorite video games!
Guess what does off that? That’s right, Glen Brogan’s non-mechanical Video Game Console Girls 2014 Calendar which just went up for sale on the artist’s site this week which features “pin-ups inspired by the design aesthetics of classic video game consoles.”
I got the bug to do a pin-up calendar a while ago, and the more I thought about it the more it made sense. As a designer and video game enthusiast I’ve always had a special, if weird, appreciation for the design of old video game hardware, and that seemed like a unique theme for the calendar that would also make for fun drawings.
Check out the sneak peek above and if you want to grab one up, simply order directly from the Albino Raven online shop – they even include important dates and facts in the history of video games marked right on the calendar!
