I’ve never been quite so torn about a video game before. On the one hand Boogerman is a flatulent phenom of gross, disgusting awesomeness. On the other… the actual game, Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure, from 1994 was never that much fun. After the thrill of throwing boogers or laying an atomic butt bomb got old, there wasn’t much else that kept me interested in playing it. However, that’s what makes this Boogerman revival so interesting.
Rather than simply retooling the existing game with new graphics co-creators Chris Tremmel and Mike Stragey intend to “re-imagine the world, design all new levels, flesh out the story, refine existing mechanics” and adding new features to Boogerman 20th Anniversary: The Video Game. In short, this (hopefully) means keeping all the repulsive fun I enjoyed from the first game and building a stronger story and gameplay experience around it. What most excites me about this project, though, is the recently announced 2 player co-op featuring EARTHWORM JIM!
