There Really is a Freddy Krueger Figure Based on the NES Game!

Okay, so chalk this one up to serendipity, but after this morning’s Fan Art Friday post about custom action figures based on retro video games I’ve learned that NECA is actually producing a NES-stylized Freddy Krueger figure! After their Jason figure it makes perfect sense, but I truly had no idea this was even a thing. All I do know is that I want this figure in a bad way when it drops this November.

Freddy is the companion piece to the Friday the 13th Classic Video Game Jason, one of the hottest SDCC Exclusives this Summer. Released in 1989 for the super popular 8-Bit home console, the video game Nightmare on Elm Street is so bad… it’s good. [It] will be a fully articulated 7-inch figure done up in that truly horrifying video game deco [and] comes in a special window box packaging with opening flap to re-create the look and feel of the classic 1989 video game packaging.
