Megadev’s ‘Super House of Dead Ninjas’ is Full of Fast-Paced, Hack-n-Slash Action

Since “game time” doesn’t come hardly as often as it used to (or should) anymore, it’s difficult to find a game that is fun AND easy to play during short breaks during the day. Luckily, the stealthy developers at Megadev Games have shown me the way with their latest online game, Super House of Dead Ninjas, over at Adult Swim Games.

More than just a kick-awesome name, Super House of Dead Ninjas is apparently a sequel to one of Megadev’s earlier games (House of Dead Ninjas) and while I’ve never played the original I didn’t feel like I missed anything. You play as the mysterious Crimson Ninja, whose mission is to “traverse the Ziggurat of Infinum where few enter and none survive.” The who and the why are left for those skilled enough to make it through – not an easy task.

This game is hard, there’s no doubt, with a timer serving as a constant reminder that if the scores of enemies (zombies, ninjas, ghosts, monsters) don’t get you Death (yes, the Grim Reaper) most definitely will. That’s not to say it’s unforgiving, though, as Megadev makes sure to provide plenty of power-ups, time bonuses, new weapons and magic spells to aid you on your quest. It’s just challenging enough to keep you coming back… which you’re likely to do every chance you get!
