TIKI SURF WITCHES Scare Up Craft Cocktails in New Comic Book [NSFW]

tiki-surf-witches-00As a self-professed strange kid and purveyor of parody, I take some degree of pride during this time of the year in gifting my friends and family with items that are (at least somewhat) beyond the norm. Whether its a mug made from the penis bone of a blue whale (a very large mug) or a set of realistic-looking prosthetic eyeballs (just because), my gift-giving prowess tends to leave those around me speechless (or just dumbfounded, perhaps).

Sometimes, however, I don’t have to go far to find that perfectly unusual gift…sometimes they just fall in my lap. Such is the case of the latest release from indie publisher Sex and Monsters (NSFW), Tiki Surf Witches Want Blood—“the first ever ‘tiki- cocktail-recipe-comic-book.'” Based on a design concept by Australian artist Steven Rhodes, the book is written by Will Penny (Tales from Grim County), and illustrated by Nik Poliwko (Bela Lugosi’s Tales from the Grave, The Jungle Tales of Tarzan) in old school black-and-white comic magazine style.

More than just a few recipes with full page illustrations, the book features a full-length 32-page story interspersed with 10 horror-inspired tiki cocktail recipes—including two original concoctions (“Hula Ghoul” and “Phantom of the Luau”) by renowned mixologist Joey Schmidt. Each recipe coincides with various plot points from the story, creating a unique and interactive reading experience. Tiki Surf Witches Want Blood is available exclusively online at the Sex and Monsters online shop (while supplies last).
