31 Days of Halloweenie

As one of the best The Adventures of Pete & Pete episodes ever, watching “Halloweenie” has become an annual tradition for me every October. One of the more obscure (less talked about) Halloween TV specials, “Halloweenie” encapsulated everything a good Halloween special needs: a quest to find the holiday spirit, roaming gang of pumpkin-headed street thugs, quotable one-liners (“Trick-or-treat, gutbucket!”)…Iggy Pop. As much as I love this episode, though, I never thought I’d ever see a fan art series dedicated to it.

I’ve never been so happy to be wrong. Thanks to Southern California-based artist and illustrator, Tim Beard, that’s exactly what we’ve got for you this week. Done back in 2012 as a series of daily “sketches,” 31 Days of Halloweenie showcases key scenes from the episode. Below are a favorite personal favorites, but hit the link for all 31 pieces by Beard!
