Rick and Morty Co-Creator, Justin Roiland, Working on a New Show

Solar Opposites - Justin Roiland

It should come as no surprise that I love Rick and Morty. Not in a weird, inappropriate way…maybe a little…but in a “I can’t believe how utterly bizarre and provocative this show is” way. I mean, aside from the obvious cool points the show gets for originating as a parody of Back to the Future, the series has a unique way of subverting social taboos while dry-humping your funny bone—leaving you laughing, even if you feel a little dirty afterwards.

While much of Rick and Morty takes place off-planet (or different dimensions), it seems that series co-creator (Justin Roiland) hasn’t had his fill of intergalactic shenanigans so he’s co-developing a new show with writer Mike McMahan. The new series, titled Solar Opposites, is apparently in development at 20th Century Fox. Roiland recently tweeted a bunch of teaser images from the production which seems to revolve around a misfit family (?) of aliens who escape their dying planet and crash land on Earth. Naturally odd couple TV tropes ensue as the aliens adjust to life in their new homeworld.

Thanks to Benjamin Hayden for the tip!
