Original Promo Pilot for “The Real Ghostbusters” Now Online

Real Ghostbusters pilot episode

I could have sworn that I’ve seen this footage online before, but maybe I’m just crazy. Regardless, it’s totally worth checking out this unaired pilot for The Real Ghostbusters created by producer/director Richard Raynis and animators Kevin Altieri and Eddie Fitzgerald when pitching the show to ABC back in the 80s.

Of course, the coolest part of seeing this footage now is spotting all the key differences between the pilot (which sticks pretty closely to the film) and the final animated series—most notably the color of the jumpsuits and Slimer’s allegiance. An in-depth comparison can be found on the Ghostbusters Wikia.
