Fresh off the festival circuit, director Chris Romano recently shared this inspired homage to Universal Studio’s The Creature from the Black Lagoon which he describes as “A horror story. A love story. A ribald comedy!” with a twist I doubt you’ll see coming.

Fish Friend – Short Film

Another fish-themed short film (I sense a trend this week), FISH FRIEND by director Jordan Blum is “the story of a girl and her murderous pet piranha” that draws influences from Tim Burton’s Frankenweeine and even some early-90s Nickelodeon (The Adventures of Pete & Pete).

Sorry guys, our final entry this week is non-aquatic. Nonetheless THE BOY WHO COULDN’T SLEEP AND NEVER HAD TO, directed by Dan Eckman (Community, Mystery Team) is an amazing proof-of-concept short film that finds two high school outcasts stepping into a fantasy world of their own creation… or rather brining that world into our own.
