On the Shelves: Home Video releases for Sept 16, 2014

Some of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases this week.

Godzilla (2014) – I like Godzilla movies, but I haven’t seen this one yet. But now that it’s out on home video, I’ll definitely give it a try. I’ve not heard awesome word of mouth, but it at least sounds solid.

Eraserhead Criterion Collection (1977) – I am not a David Lynch fan. But I know he has his fans as does this movie. So a Criterion Collection edition of Eraserhead will have some interest around these parts. Just not from around my parts. So to speak.

Silent Night Deadly Night 30th Anniversary – One of the classic of 80s slasher horror. I was hoping they would have put the sequel on this release as well, but I’m happy we get a nice edition of the first movie.

Flesh & Blood (Unrated Director’s Cut) – I am kind of a fan of Paul Verhoven, if for nothing else but Robocop, but this 1985 epic adventure set in the 1500s is an interesting movie. It stars the awesome Rutger Hauer, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Thompson.

TV Guide Spotlight: TV’s Spookiest Halloween Episodes – This looks interesting. TV Guide picks what they feel are the 13 spookiest Halloween TV episodes. Expect episodes of Bewitched, Facts of Life, Married With Children and even an episode of Ned and Stacey.

Ghostbusters / Ghostbusters II Blu-Ray combo back – Finally, both Ghostbusters movies in one Blu-Ray combo pack. I’ll definitely be checking this out.
