Independently Awesome: Fight Frogs

Fight Frogs - Giegerich

Badass Baltimore-based illustrator Jimmy Giegerich is back at it again with a brand new Kickstarter campaign, this time for a comic project called… FIGHT FROGS! If that title sounds oddly reminiscent of “Ninja Turtles” or “Battletoads” that’s because it’s meant to be. The story of three frog brothers (Crud, Scuzz, and Gorp) living and hanging out in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, FIGHT FROGS is essentially a hardcore homage to those properties with a little Fist of the North Star and Mad Max thrown in as well.

With the “36-page, zine-style, full-color” comic almost completely finished, Giegerich is simply seeking to raise funds for printing costs and he’s offering up some pretty rad backer rewards that include canvas patches, screen-printed posters and original sketches. If you find yourself waking up each morning with a hole in your heart for “the days when teams of humanoid animals kicking the snot out of each other was as cool as it got…” this comic’s for you.
