PHANTASM: RAVAGER Trailer Teases the End of the Tall Man Saga

PHANTASM: RAVAGER

PHANTASM: RAVAGERFans of Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm films have plenty to celebrate today, with the surprise announcement that production on the fifth and final installment in the series, PHANTASM: RAVAGER, has been completed. Even more of a shock is the reveal that our friend and Emmy-nominated animation director David Hartman (SKC Magazine #2) is directing the project – marking the first time another director besides Coscarelli has been at the helm of a Phantasm film.

According to the press release, Coscarelli notes:

I felt it was time to let someone else play with my train set. David and I go back to my film Bubba Ho-Tep. He did terrific visual effects on that, and more recently created a wild animated sequence and some amazing visual effects in my most recent film, John Dies at the End. Our aesthetics are in sync and he’s quite an experienced director in his own right.

The release does also note that Coscarelli did co-wrote the film with Hartman and serves as Executive Producer so die hard fans should feel at ease. As if that weren’t enough, the entire original cast will be returning AND there’s supposed to be “an extended sequence on the Tall Man’s home world.” I can’t wait to see that!
