THE GREAT KINGDOM Documentary Seeks to Expose the Story Behind Dungeons & Dragons

The Great Kingdom - trailer

I’ve never been an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons, but I have plenty of friends who have and I bet some of my fellow strange kids out there are as well. If so, this trailer for a new documentary called THE GREAT KINGDOM should be right up your alley. Exploring the origins of the game, the documentary delves into not only the cultural background during which the game gained its initial following but provides a glimpse at the life of those you created it.

In 1969, Gary Gygax, a family man and game designer with an entrepreneurial mind meets Dave Arneson, another brilliant game designer from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Their collaboration over the next few years would change the gaming world and themselves. This is the story of the people behind the creation of the epic role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons.

What happens to these individuals as they whether through the success, the betrayals, the excess, the downfalls and eventual redemptions all happens within The Great Kingdom.
