Monday Morning Videomania #56: Horror Shorts Edition

Eel Girl - Monday Morning Videomania #56

**VIDEO OF THE WEEK** A fun animated short by friend and SKC club member Zach Bellissimo, Blenderstein! was created as “an homage to classic horror” while he was still a student at New York’s School of Visual Arts back in 2011. Since then Zach has worked for the likes of Titmouse (Metalocalypse, Superjail!) and Starburns (Frankenhole, Rick and Morty) while trying to kickstart his own animated series.

M Is For Mailbox

Another great entry for “The ABCs of Death 2” competition, this time by co-directors Dante Vescio & Rodrigo Gasparini. A haunting Halloween tale about a young vampire disguised as a trick or treater, M Is For Mailbox features some pretty nice gore while offering a clever twist ending that some may or may not see coming.

Eel Girl

Boasting some impressive makeup and visual effects by the Weta Workshop, Eel Girl is a Lovecraft-inspired short film directed by Paul Campion back in 2008 that finds a horny scientist falling for some “half-human half-eel creature” he’s been researching. Like any pervy scientist worth his weight in neutrons, the man can’t resist the creature’s sex appeal and pays the price. Note to self… never try to kiss anything with gills.
