Super7 Resurrects 30 Year Old Prototypes for New ‘ALIEN’ Action Figures

With Toy Fair 2013 right around the corner there’s been plenty of toy-related news surfacing and re-surfacing lately, but the one bit that really caught my eye was an announcement first made California-based toy retailer Super7 at last year’s San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) event. Namely, the announcement revealed that Super7 was seeking “official authorization from 20th Century Fox” to produce 33-year-old prototypes of Kenner-style Alien action figures!

The line was intended to be part of their REACTION (Retro-Action) Figure Series whose intent is to recapture “the “golden age” of action figures with approximately five points of articulation, accessories, and period-authentic blister card packaging.” Unfortunately, no word on when we might be able to actually see the new figures has been mentioned since SDCC, but we can certainly hope new information will emerge next week!
