Rebecca Sugar’s ‘Stephen Universe’ Coming to Cartoon Network
Fans of Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gravity Falls will have something new to look forward to this year with the announcement that Rebecca Sugar‘s Stephen Universe is in the pipeline for later this year on Cartoon Network. Marking the channel’s first show helmed by a female, not much is known about Stephen Universe other than it stars “Steven, the youngest member of a team of magical Guardians of the Universe.”
Sugar, who appeared in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Hollywood list last year, has previous credits that include storyboarding and songwriting for Adventure Time and Hotel Transylvania in addition to her hand-drawn thesis film, Singles.
Also slated for development this year? Peter Browngardt’s Uncle Grandpa. Win, win baby!
