Playmates Releasing Classic Line of TMNT Figures – Including Bebop & Rocksteady!

While the constant re-imagining of 80s and 90s culture can be a real pain, there are a few things that make it worthwhile. Things like a resurged interest in classic toys like Masters of the Universe or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. While Mattel has seen their Masters of the Universe Classics line grow exponentially in the past year thanks to Matty Collector, Playmates has recently jumped on the bandwagon as well with their TMNT Classics toy line – all based on the original TV series.

While Series One of the line, already out, featured all 4 Turtles in their retro-style shells along with 30+ additional points of articulation, Series Two promises a few villains including Shredder’s stumbling lackeys Rocksteady and Bebop! No images have been revealed to-date, but according to Toy News International the word is that the new figures will be unveiled at this year’s New York Toy Fair.

Mutoid Man was always my favorite. Or wait was it Mutogen Man? I don’t remember, but his arms and legs came off. It was awesome.
