Early Character Designs for ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ by Illustrator Joe Pitt
As one of my favorite animated films of the year, I cannot get enough of WRECK-IT RALPH. With a story that keeps things entertaining for kids and adults alike and top notch computer graphics, Disney finally managed to pull one over Pixar (even though they’re on the same team now). Even more interesting than the film itself, however, is the creative work that went on behind the scenes – especially the early concepts for Ralph.
Joe Pitt, a concept artist and illustrator for Disney (Wreck-It Ralph, Gravity Falls), shared a bunch of those early concepts last month that reveal a really awesome evolution for the title character in addition to Fix-It Felix.
