On the Shelves: DVD Releases for Dec 04, 2012

Some of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases this week.

Dark Knight Rises
The Dark Knight Rises
– The final movie in the Nolan Batman trilogy. I enjoyed it. Did I have some problems with it? Yes, of course (Bruce happy and living in Italy? WTF?!). But overall it was solid. If you want to hear some more in depth conversation on the entire Nolan Batman Trilogy check out Episode 53 of the Nerd Lunch podcast.

ST TNG S2
Star Trek: The Next Generation – Season Two [Blu-ray]
– Season 2 of Star Trek: TNG finally hits Blu-Ray. Last week they premiered two episodes; Q Who? and Measure of a Man on the big screen in certain theaters. Unfortunately, I was busy and couldn’t make it. I was so disappointed because Q Who? is one of my favorite episodes. I look forward to watching these High Def transfers.  The Season One set was fantastic.

silent night, deadly night 1/2
Silent Night, Deadly Night 1 & 2
– Two of my favorite holiday themed horror movies in one double feature DVD. These two have been sort of hard to find, so snatch these up while you can.

Silent Night
Silent Night
– Another awesomely bad Christmas horror movie featuring a homicidal Santa Claus. Tis the season!

12/12/12
12/12/12
– Shouldn’t this have been released next week?

V/H/S
V/H/S
– This looks like a pretty cool little indie horror flick. A group of guys break into a house to steal a very rare video and discover a huge bank of TVs and a large library of videos, each one more bizarre and strange than the last.
