Team Meat Announces ‘Mew-Genics’ – A Game About Cats… Sorta

Announced earlier this month, MEW-GENICS will be the next official release by Edmund McMillen and Tommy Refenes (Team Meat), the same twisted duo that spawned two of my favorite games: Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac. While few details have been revealed, Team Meat have posted a few teasers for game, calling it “strangest project [we've] ever worked on.. and that’s saying something.”

Considering their past titles, one of which includes a skinless boy saving a princess from an evil fetus and the other a naked boy fighting demons in his mother’s basement, that’s definitely saying something. Already, the cast for Mew-Genics is turning out to be just as “colorful” as we’ve come to expect from McMillen and Refenes with a hunchback (Frank), a mad scientist (Dr. Beanies), Mr. Tinkles and (most recently) the cat-loving Tracy.

To see what disturbing fates await these characters and more, be sure to stay tuned to Team Meat’s blog every Saturday for a new reveal.
