Monday Morning Videomania #10: Horny Witches, Muppets vs Mastadon and Technocop
GIVE IT TO ME! – Scene from The Monster’s Christmas
Yeah, I know it’s way too early for Christmas but trust me when I say this one was too good not to share. Even taken out of context, this scene from The Monster’s Christmas is no stranger than the film itself (not to mention gag-inducing). While the movie, which could arguably rival The Forbidden Zone in it’s cult status as certifiably the most insane thing captured on film, was originally released in 1981 as a TV Christmas special in New Zealand it continues to terrify kids and nostalgist the world over. Tell me this song’s not stuck in your head!
Adult Swim x Mastodon “Deathbound” Video
From it’s opening homage of Mr. Rogers to its chaotic dismemberment of Muppet-like creatures in the bowels of hell, this music video for Mastadon’s single “Deathbound” is deviously brilliant and inspired. To create this masterpiece of mayhem, Adult Swim teamed up with Authority Films, a production company based in Atlanta, GA. Thanks for fellow club member, Paul Arnold, for the tip!
Sega Genesis’ Technocop
If you’ve ever dreamed of taking the experience of a true grindhouse film and translating it into an old school video games… well, dream no more! Technocop, released by Gremlin Graphics in 1988, has got you covered. While Technocop may not boast the best gameplay, or graphics, it does have a lot going for it like – oh, the fact the the goons you gun down get blown into a puddle of blood, bones and eyeballs! Not good enough for you? How about 16-bit rendered hookers? Or 223 MPH car chases? Killer rats? Children in steel cages? Because this game has them all. Check out the playable version of Technocop online.

Fuuuuck, technocop was a bad game. That is all.
Haha! I love watching puppets slaughter each other! It is so satisfying!
I had Technocop also. It was bad , and difficult. My Dad walked in on me playing it and took it for the gore factor only for me to come home and find him playing it. I got it back shortly after.
That really sucks about Technocop – the premise/concept seems so cool! Shame no one has come around and gave it a next-gen kick in the ass.
