‘Cartoon Lagoon’ Pilot Announced as New York Television Festival Official Selection

Back in June I shared a new series slated for DVD this Fall called Captain Cornelius Cartoon’s Cartoon Lagoon, co-produced by Manny Galán and Pat Giles. The show, hosted by Captain Cornelius and his puppet crew of “wet behind the ear” sailors, shines a spotlight on both classic Saturday morning cartoons as well as a few new ones.

Recently, Galán shared with us that the pilot was named an Official Selection of the New York Television Festival to be screened in late October at Tribeca Cinemas (a full month before the November DVD release!). To celebrate the announcement, the team also unveiled its second promo trailer. “[We're] trying desperately to find a way to keep the idea of what Saturday mornings, cereal and cartoons used to mean,” says Galán.

Learn more about Cartoon Lagoon by checking out their undersea dwelling online at Cartoon Lagoon Studios or give them a big thumbs up on Facebook.
