On the Shelves: DVD Releases for July 31, 2012
Some of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases for this week.
Marilyn: The Premier Collection – There are a ton of Marilyn Monroe titles being released on DVD and Blu-Ray this week. This is the first one I’ll mention. It’s a DVD collection of 17 of Marilyn’s most popular movies like Some Like it Hot, Seven Year Itch and Gentleman Prefer Blondes. Your mileage may vary, but I love those old movies and I love Marilyn in them. Plus, you know, she’s uber hot.

Marilyn Blu-Ray releases – Next are three of the Marilyn Monroe Blu-Ray releases this week. Marilyn looks amazing on the covers for Seven Year Itch and How To Marry a Millionaire. Go ahead, click through to Amazon to get a closer look at those covers. SEXINESS AWAITS. Unfortunately, the cover for Gentleman Prefer Blondes isn’t the greatest which sucks because it stars Marilyn AND the gorgeous Jane Russell, star of The Outlaw. You’d think they’d find a better picture. While not the greatest actress, Marilyn works best in light comedies and her movies are always entertaining. Check them out.

Hatfields & McCoys – I had recorded this on my DVR but never actually watched it. I really want to but just haven’t had a chance to fit it in. It looks amazing and I hear it’s pretty awesome.

ATM – As a horror movie, this could be terrible, but I think it looks intriguing at the least. Plus Alice Eve. She’s gorgeous. Am I right?

Sand Sharks – Brooke Hogan on the other hand, looks like a dude. And this movie. Sand Sharks. Sharks that live and swim in the sand. I don’t know, it good be B-movie greatness, but I’m having trouble thinking it actually will be.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 Vol XXIV – I will always recommend Mystery Science Theater 3000. Always. This particular volume contains Fugitive Alien, Star Force: Fugitive Alien II, The Sword And The Dragon & Samson Vs. The Vampire Women.
