On the Shelves: DVD Releases for July 10, 2012

Some of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases this week.

American Reunion – I loved the first American Pie, really disliked the second and thoroughly enjoyed the third. I like this cast and their chemistry, but I didn’t get to see this movie in the theater so I’ll definitely check it out on DVD. I even watched one of the “sequels”, American Pie Presents Band Camp, and it’s every bit as awful as you think it’s going to be.

Twins of Evil – A Hammer Horror classic. Two Playboy Centerfold models (and identical twins) play identical twins (of course) who live with their fundamentalist uncle (Peter Cushing) and come under the influence of a vampire count (Damien Thomas). It sounds amazing…and it is.

Chariots of Fire – This movie is famous for it’s theme song as well as how spectacularly boring it is.  See very little happen in High Def 1080p.

Outland – Sean Connery is awesome. So Sean Connery starring in an 80s sci-fi western is going to be awesome regardless. This movie is everything you expect it to be. And more.
