Fan Art Friday: Dan Barrett’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Redesign Project
In the wake of Nickelodeon’s unveiling of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles teaser footage from their upcoming reboot, I figured it appropriate to share yet another decidedly different take on everyone’s favorite team of green, pizza-loving ninjas. Done over the course of a few years, Dan Barrett’s TMNT Redesign Project includes an impressive collection of re-envisioned heroes and villains from the original series including my personal favorite: Wingnut and Screwloose!
On his blog, Barrett, a “biologist that dabbles in illustration,” breaks down each character redesign with an explanation and short bio that explains some of his stylistic decisions alongside colorful commentary such as describing the original heroes as “green tinted cabbage patch kids with shells.” Funny stuff.

IN THIS ISSUE: Strange Kid runs amok in 80s/90s TV series! Jason Edmiston, Matthew Allison, Drew Rausch, David DeGrand, Brent Engstrom...

Frickin’ awesome.

Wow! Thanks for the feature! FYI, I think that Wingnut and Screwloose is my favorite too.
You bet, Dan! Keep up to awesome work!
