On the Shelves: DVD Releases for Jan 17, 2012
Some of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases for this week.

Abduction – There have been a lot of “Bourne Identity”-like movies lately. Salt and the recent Haywire come to mind. Add this to the pile. However, I think it looks good even if it is derivative.

Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star – This looks TERRIBLE. Supposedly co-written by Adam Sandler and produced by Happy Madison, this movie looks like poison. After Grown Ups and Jack and Jill, I question whether Sandler has it in him anymore to make a good movie. This certainly isn’t a step in the right direction. This looks very similar to a David Spade vehicle, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.

License to Drive – What a great 80s teen movie. Starring the Coreys. And a deliciously young Heather Graham. I love this movie. So 80s. So AWESOME.

Project X – This is an underrated movie. I really enjoyed this movie when I saw it on cable in the late 80s. Features a post-Ferris Broderick and an impossibly young Helen Hunt.

Bad Girls – I always saw this as the female version of Young Guns. It’s actually not bad. It gets a bit boring in the middle but overall it’s a fairly entertaining movie. I like all the ladies they got to star, it makes for an interesting movie.

IN THIS ISSUE: Strange Kid runs amok in 80s/90s TV series! Jason Edmiston, Matthew Allison, Drew Rausch, David DeGrand, Brent Engstrom...

Glad “License to Drive” is on Blu-Ray, but it still ranks as one of the worst dates in movie history to me.
