Adam Green and Joe Lynch Unite for “Holliston” on FEARnet
FEARnet gives the green light to horror’s twins of “Twisted Comedy.”
Reported earlier this afternoon, it appears that directors Adam Green (Hatchet, Frozen) and Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Knights of Badassdom) are teaming up with FEARnet for the horror channel’s first original series, ominously titled Holliston. Billed as a sort of Bill & Ted-style buddy/horror comedy, the half hour series is set to begin production later this year. According to a post on the ArieScope blog, the series is:
Set in the town of Holliston, MA, [and] follows the lives of Adam and Joe, two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet and dealing with life and the opposite sex in their post-college jobs at a Boston cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called “The Movie Crypt.”
Biopic? Perhaps. “This is a show built on the memories and real-life experiences of our post-college days, wrapped in a shroud of wrongness, packed full of movie quotes and genre references, and topped off with plenty of jokes at the expense of our real-life friends and industry associates,” said Green.
